I want students to enjoy learning. It has to be something in which they are willing to participate. I try to make most of my classes as entertaining as I can by finding topics in which the students will find an interest. Once the content is interesting, then the form (the structure, the vocabulary, the idioms etc.) will come more and more naturally and intuitively. I am very open minded and try to put myself in the students' shoes as much as possible and, as a learner myself, I can relate to the needs and obstacles someone might face in the process of learning.

I am patient, encouraging and sociable and having been taught English and Spanish, I understand what it's like to learn a new language. I have tutored for two years at the College of Charleston in German, French and Portuguese, as well as taught the beginning conversation courses for Portuguese students.
