I started tutoring people in language and in math during my university days, and early on learned that patience is a big factor in making the student(s) learn comfortably. This comes from my experience at my secondary school where due to the high amount of cultural exchange and engagement you begin to understand that everyone has a different way of understanding things. It is also because of these experiences that I believe that the practical sessions are a little more important than the theory aspect of things. Hence I tend to put more focus on actual practicing of the speaking by having regular conversations so people are more adept to the everyday usage of the language.

After two years of working in corporate communications, I decided to pursue my passion for education. I gained my teaching qualification in 2019 and moved to Fuzhou, China to teach English! I have gained diverse experience in teaching English as a foreign language, having taught in classrooms, online, and as a private tutor. My background in business means that I am well-placed to teach business English, with a combination of professional training and firsthand experience. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about teaching grammar, pronunciation (including phonics), and early years learning.

I have been conversing with English language learners at my school both as volunteer and as a part time job for about a year now. I feel like I would be able to help you with continuing the conversation, pronunciation(I know a bit about how the mouth should look when making a certain sound in English and the process of learning a foreign sound since I took a Linguistics class and I understand how to add sounds to your language arsenal ^.^), and fixing your grammar mistakes. All in all, I am here to try my best in furthering your conversational fluency. Whether you have a certain topic you want to talk about, or just want to have a random conversation, I am here.

I am a CELTA certified teacher with three years experience teaching English as a foreign language, I enjoy teaching all aspect of English but I especially like to teach pronunciation. (I like to use Adrian Underhill's technique for pronunciation. you can find his videos on youtube if you would like to see the process.) I like to receive feed back from the students to let me know how effective my lessons are for them, or if they are confused. I am very patient with my students and let them work at their won pace.
