My lessons are focused on building your skills in all areas of language learning: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. During the lesson, we will work on speaking and listening through role-playing activities ("scheduling a meeting", "ordering a pizza"), speaking tasks (job interviews, introducing yourself), and conversations about topics that interest you. News articles, homework, and other authentic materials are provided to help increase your vocabulary and fluency. All classes are conducted on Zoom.

I have experience teaching and tutoring young people as well as adults. I have always enjoyed helping others learn English and to see them progress in their fluency; which I tailor towards my student's needs. My teaching style ranges from informal conversations (for instance, the latest film releases), to vocabulary lessons.

I have taught English at both academic and individual levels, but especially enjoy teaching to individuals. I taught English classes to Spanish speakers in Mexico and have worked with students from a wide variety of backgrounds at the university level. I understand the challenges inherent in learning another language and, rather than strive for the elusive goal of perfection, I aim to help the student achieve communication according to his or her personal objectives.

As a teacher, I try to personalise my lessons as much as possible so that you learn what you need to, not what I want to teach you. I am really familiar with IELTS, FCE, CAE, and CPE, for example, so we will start with a mock test, so I can find out your strengths and weaknesses, then work hard to build on your strengths and improve your weaknesses. This usually works very well with some successful strategies I have. For conversation or business lessons, we choose topics that are relevant to you, whether it is about problems you have speaking in meetings, or just talking fluently with good pronunciation. I can help you improve your English in many ways.

I am patient and understanding and this is reflected in my teaching style. My students must feel comfortable and their confidence must be built up in order to become proficient speakers of English. My best quality as a teacher is the ability to recognise the individuals needs and plan my classes accordingly. Having previously taught people with no background in English whatsoever, to highly proficient speakers, my experience is notable! I adapt my lessons to the needs and interests of my learners while making my classes fun and engaging.

The main areas of teaching English as a foreign language that I have specialized in are General English, Business English, English for Academic Purposes, Critical Thinking and IELTS exam Preparation. Over the last several years, I have taught on numerous pre-sessional courses for students preparing to take a BA or MA degree in UK or Australian based universities. Over my teaching career, I have instructed students of various ages, nationalities and backgrounds and I have a lot of experience teaching learners on a one-to-one basis. In terms of credentials, I have gained a BA in Music, an MA in Education, and the English Language teaching qualifications of CELTA and DELTA.

In order for me to give more to my students, I am currently studying through I-to-I International for my TEFL Level 5 Diploma ( 300 hours ) ... which will be completed by January 2021.

I teach English, Arabic, Russian and Spanish at all levels. I put particular emphasis on speaking, even though I always give my students a solid grammar basis so that they can form creative sentences even right from the start when they have fairly limited vocabulary.

I have been teaching English since 1999 and shortly after obtained my CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching Accreditation) teaching qualification. I have taught in five different countries= the UK, Spain, Hungary, Vietnam and Malaysia; presently I am living in Budapest, Hungary. My motivation for teaching?
