During our Biz Japanese lesson, Rie-sensei prepared a PDF with exercises practicing the various types of honorific verbs and using them in sentences. Even though I know them in my head, it's really good practice just trying to use them naturally. She always adds useful new business words (such as 株主総会) for me to learn and provides interesting biz context as well. The hour goes by so quickly, and I can always review by looking back at the chat log thanks to her being very diligent about typing out the sentences I attempted! Again, for anyone wanting to start out Biz Japanese, highly recommended!

A great first lesson with Riesan. Riesan is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic teacher. We talked about travel and Kyoto. Riesan - kyou arigatougozaimashita. Ressun ha yakuni tatte totemo tanoshikatta desu. Jikai mo tanoshimini shite imasu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!

As I first got in contact with Rieさん and told her I need a well-structured course specifically on みんなの日本語中級II, she accepted my request without hesitation. She went the extra miles by purchasing a copy of the textbook just for one student, and that’s me. In that moment, I felt so moved by her enthusiasm in teaching and respect for my needs. Rieさん has done a fantastic job in achieving an effective communication with me throughout each session. I can tell how hard she’s working to make the quality of her lessons consistent. During our lesson, Rieさん shared her long-stay experience in Fiji and explained why she considers Fiji as her favorite destination among the 55 countries she’s been to. I was drawn to her wealth of travel experience. Overall, I will highly recommend Rieさん to those who are serious about Japanese, especially to those who are aiming to become an advanced Japanese speaker for the long run. You certainly can’t expect to find such an elite as Rieさん often.

I had fun with today's lesson! I asked Rei Sensei to try using Keigo with me. I was so bad at it, but she continued in guiding me and using Keigo as well. I talked so slow but the time passed by so fast because I had fun speaking with her.
