My name is Jancke Nel, I am 23 years old and I live in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa. I love traveling, trying new food and experiencing different cultures. I lived in the USA for 1 year and 8 months where I learned a lot about myself. I did a lot of traveling during my time there and my favorite places to visit were Mexico, the Niagara Falls and New York City. I love spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy being outdoors going to the beach, on hikes and attending the local parkrun every Saturday. Other hobbies of mine include listening to podcasts, reading self-development books, watching movies and series and living an active and healthy lifestyle.

I am bilingual in English and Afrikaans. I believe speaking and practicing a language is a fundamental step in learning a new language. My teaching approach is very practical. Through conversation, you will practice English/Afrikaans by listening, learning new words, speaking, making mistakes and having fun. There will be absolutely no pressure during our lessons. The learning environment will be friendly, relaxed and comfortable for you to learn and progress at your own pace. I am energetic and enthusiastic, and I love talking, listening and learning about others. We will have plenty of things to talk about. I have a huge interest in learning about my students and their lives.

My teaching approach will be completely conversational. However, I'd be happy to assist in other tasks for instance emails and so forth. I do request that you ask in advance in order for me to be well prepared for our next lesson. We will start at a level that is most comfortable for you with lessons adjusted according to your needs. During the first lesson we will discuss your goals and expectations moving forward. Lessons will be conversation-based to practice the natural flow of English. With practicing a language comes fluency and accuracy. We will work on expanding your vocabulary and improving your pronunciation.
