My name is Giulia and I was born and raised in Salento, the heel of the Italian boot (South Puglia). I started teaching Italian to foreigners almost ten years ago, when I was studying at the University for Foreigners of Siena, where I graduated in Teaching Italian as a second/foreign language. The University for Foreigners of Siena gave me the opportunity to work as a teacher abroad. I taught in Canberra (Australia), in Córdoba (Argentina) and in the United States, in Miami! I love teaching Italian but also I love learning new languages, so I know the struggles that come with learning a new one.I speak English, Spanish and some French. Currently I am trying to study Russian and Portuguese.

Cerco sempre di capire bisogni e interessi dei miei studenti prima di creare un piano di lezioni e dò molta importanza all'uso della lingua, sia parlata che scritta. Sono molto socievole e amo stabilire un rapporto di fiducia con gli studenti. Amo condividere la mia cultura e capire meglio tutte le altre culture. I always try to understand my students's needs and interests before to create a lesson plan and I give a lot of importance to the use of the language, both oral and written. I am very friendly and I love to have a relatonship of trust with my stydents. I love to share my culture and to understand better other cultures.

Cerco di usare quanto più possibile la lingua italiana, per stimolare lo studente a pensare e parlare in italiano. Organizzo le mie lezioni sia con materiali didattici professionali, sia con articoli di giornale, canzoni, film, e così via. La grammatica è parte fondamentale della lezione, ma penso che la comunicazione (orale e scritta) sia fondamentale. I try to speak Italian as much as possible, because I think that to lean a new language is important to actually think in that language. I organize my classes both with professional materials and with songs, news, movies and so on. Grammar is a very important part of the class, but I think communication, both oral and written, is essential.
