Hello! I'm Sara. I’m a language teacher, writer, translator, and linguist on projects in AI and speech recognition software. I have a master’s degree in linguistics with a specialisation in accents, second-language speech-learning and experimental phonetics. As part of my bachelor’s degree I also studied Latin, Sanskrit and historical Indo-European linguistics. I grew up bilingual (English and Swedish). I speak French, German and Italian, and I’m currently learning Russian, Polish and Finnish. I obviously love languages! Apart from the UK and Sweden, I have lived in the Netherlands, Belgium and Hungary. I love meeting new people through different languages. *

Because of my own passion for languages, I’m enthusiastic about helping others work towards their language-learning goals. I love words, expressions and their etymology. I’m interested in the nuances in language that many overlook, so you can trust me to pay attention to detail! I’m good at identifying my students’ strengths and weaknesses in language acquisition. With your interests and goals in mind, I will make sure that the material, as well as my own speaking style, level and pace, suit your current level and learning style. As you progress, we can move on to more advanced topics and exercises. It should be challenging but also fun! *
