"It's easier to learn something right than to unlearn something wrong." Hi, my name is Jan. I'm a well-traveled American who has lived in four foreign countries. I've been teaching English as a foreign language for over 30 years -- the last 5 years online. I teach all levels -- beginner, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate, and advanced. My goal is to make your learning experience as pleasurable, productive, and stress-free as possible.

A. 30 years teaching Am and Br English as a foreign language in the classroom on four continents. B.A. in English (Writing) 1600+ hrs teaching online I'm a natural born teacher & I love what I do. I'm a language learner myself so I understand how to break through the language barrier.

Your lessons with me are designed around your particular needs and goals -- both personal and professional. All lessons are interactive and emphasize speaking skills. We begin with a warmup designed especially for you - speaking practice, grammar or vocabulary exercises, etc. The last half of the lesson we spend using textbook (at YOUR level) to help introduce new language skills in an interactive manner. Business English is my speciality. We use textbooks, audio files, & digital materials to speed your progress. All my lessons are student-centered which means that we use your strengths and interests to build your English skills in a way that suits you best.

TEFL and TESOL - Global Language Training - 2017I passed Global's 150.hour Master TEFL Course with a grade A. This most recent certificate updated and improved my teaching skills. It allows me to teach English as a foreign language anywhere in the world.

I had a great masterclass on writing. We worked on writing an essay on the topic "Why the company should choose me like a candidate for some position?" Jan has incredible writing and communication skills. She is a good advisor on how to move in an English speaking business environment.

Jam gave a lot of tips on how to answer some questions in a hypotetical situation of a issue which rose and had to be fixed rapidily. In addition, she tried to suit the lesson to my needs as much as she could which was also helpful.
