After obtaining a MA in Linguistics in Japan, I worked for Tourism Office of Tottori Prefectural Government, which gave me abundant opportunities to use a wide range of languages on a daily basis. Being a native speaker of Cantonese born in Hong Kong, I am fluent in Mandarin, English, Japanese, Thai and Korean, and also speak many other languages (Vietnamese, Tagalog, Hokkien, etc).
I enjoy traveling and talk to peope in the local languages. As a language learner myself, I have personally employed a variety of strategies to accommodate my study goals. As such, I understand the need for customized lessons for each student according to their respective language needs.

I believe that I make for a highly qualified language instructor given my post-graduate background in linguistics, my specialized language teaching experiences for the past 6 years, and standardized test taking experiences (Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test, JLPT N1, TOEIC 950, TOPIK Level 6).
As a teacher, I whole-heartedly encourage and support my students in their academic endeavors, making sure to take note of their progress every step of the way. I like to have an active classroom where students are provided many and varied opportunities to learn their target language. Knowing that I am helping my students slowly but surely succeed in their target language makes

I teach English, Japanese, Thai, Cantonese and Mandarin. I have taught students with a wide variety of language goals. Some of which were to get good results from a standardized language test, to be able to cope in a foreign country and to satisfy their daily language needs, and even to prepare for university entrance exams and job interviews. Given that each student will come with their own language goals and needs, my classroom strategies and teaching materials, therefore, will be altered accordingly. From discussing the latest news to exploring the meaning of the lyrics of a song, from beginner level to business academic level — let’s make our classes fun and engaging!
