Sono anche io uno studente su italkie dove cerco di migliorare l’inglese per questioni lavorative. Credo che una lingua nasca per essere parlata e quindi il solo modo per migliorare e perfezionarsi sia appunto parlarla. A volte lo stress, l’emozione o gli impegni lavorativi ci impediscono di tirare fuori tutte le nostre potenzialità. Per questo mi piace affrontare la lezione come una conversazione fra amici, rilassati e sereni. Particolare attenzione agli stranieri che vengono a lavorare in Italia.

I like planning lessons and materials with my students, in order to create a relaxing and even fun-filled study environment. I like teaching using material such as songs, comics, news articles, and movies, which I found very useful for learning the Italian language but also for exploring the Italian culture. I can also adapt my schedule to my students.

Mi piace utilizzare un documento condiviso google doc da usare come quaderno degli appunti. Con questo documento possiamo tenere traccia dei progressi dello studente e possiamo incollare articoli, immagini o slide utili per imparare la lingua. Posso conversare su praticamente qualsiasi cosa e utilizzo la conversazione come metodo informale per spiegare grammatica e concetti.

Insegno italiano agli stranieri da circa due anni e l’ho sempre insegnato in contesti multiculturali a persone provenienti da qualsiasi parte del mondo. La mia passione sono le lingue, ma mi piace parlare anche di storia, geografia, arte, musica e cinema. Se avete argomenti particolari come quelli appena citati possiamo parlarne insieme durante la lezione, possiamo fare conversazione. Tra gli studenti e i tutor nei corsi di specializzazione per l'insegnamento che ho fatto (tra cui il CEDILS -Certificazione in didattica dell'italiano a stranieri e il CELTA - Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) io ero conosciuta come "la giocherellona". Sì esatto, una a cui piace giocare! Penso che la dimensione ludica sia il mezzo ideale per imparare senza accorgersi di star studiando e praticando la lingua. Io per prima sono studente di lingue straniere e so perfettamente cosa significhi faticare per crearsi una propria grammatica, ricordarsi vocaboli, fare figuracce davanti ai nativi... Niente paura! If there's one thing that gives me joy is talking about languages, their grammatical peculiarities, the culture they originate from and finding similarities with Italian. The only other thing that comes close is being able to communicate proficiently in a foreign language while learning something new in the process. Listening, repeating, speaking, practicing and writing are all key to the learning path and I'll commit to adjust our sessions to whatever method suits you the most.

As I said, I have a rather scientific approach to languages, but I am also convinced that it is necessary to enjoy the process of learning to have success. I believe that it is essential to both speak and listen to a language, but it is also undoubtedly useful to have somebody that can give you some tips and correct you if necessary, while having a good time. I used to tutor children and teenagers in their school years helping them with subjects such as Italian grammar and literature. I am actually pretty much into classical literature. I also helped many adults learning Italian, especially my fellow East European and Arab immigrants. Since I've been on italki I've realized how much I missed doing this, and how much I love it! I still do not have any particular qualitication as a teacher (but it's actually in my plans) so I don't have the pretension to teach to an academic level. However, I do have a lot of experience, both live and online, and I do speak both languages on a native level, using them everyday in school, work and personal life.
