I am a Community Tutor and My Lessons are targeted at intermediate to advanced Speakers. I am an Open Minded Person who's very engaging and empathetic in a Conversation. Learning a new Language can be difficult. I still try to argue fluent with my Dad in Italian. Currently im learning Japanese 
so i totally understand how you feel sometimes when struggling to get your point across. Together we will figure it out and improve as i have a very casual and friendly approach with my Students. !!MISTAKES ARE PART OF THE PROCESS!!

I am disciplined and always well prepared for my lessons, I try to make them as real and relevant as possible. I never stop evolving as a teacher, mastering new and better ways to present material and learning within the content area I teach.

For the past few years, I've been volunteering with young people in schools to improve their confidence with English. During my time in Germany, I worked for the Red Cross as a learning mentor for a young refugee where I provided English conversation practice and helped him with his schoolwork. My current long-term goal is to become a schoolteacher. As a language learner myself, I understand the difficulties and challenges with learning a language and will be able to help you regardless of how old you are.

Most people are afraid of doing mistakes in a new language. But without mistakes it is not possible to improve. So feel free and be happy about every little progress. I always teach in a friendly and respectfully way so that you feel comfortable and in a good athmospere.

I believe in positive encouragement rather than harsh and strict learning methods! Language is a beautiful tool to speak to different people all over the world. Therefore it should be fun. If you enjoy doing something it is most likely that you will stick to the habit of practicing it. I just experienced it myself. When I learned Japanese I had a very kind teacher and thanks to his funny and encouraging teaching I fell in love with the language. Now, a few years later, I am fluent.

I like to set my students thinking and to see how a learning process progresses. I have already worked with people of all ages and noticed that not everyone learns the same way. But what has helped everyone is patience, attention, and trust from the teacher. Since I myself wasn't very satisfied with how my teachers, back at my school days, were teaching, my aim is doing it better. By profession I’m a language teacher and for 7 years, I’ve taught German as a foreign language. I’m trained and certified by the Goethe-Institute and teach according to their method – the communicative approach.

I love it to teach and to learn. To share knowledge is one of the best things. We have the ability to constantly learn something. And if we´re enjoying it then learning becomes easy and that helps us to reach our goals faster. And if some things need more time then we should accept it and not give up. If the seed is planes the flower will bloom when time is right. Many of my students said and are saying that I´m funny – I believe them. In that case I guess our lessons could be fun but I´m also patient, helpful, and supportive.

I am a teacher that wants you to think about a language. I want you to understand the structure and how a language works. Memorization is a very inefficient and boring way to learn languages. This will also reflect in my teaching style. I will show you etymological patterns to dissect vocabulary and see where words come from. I am a patient person. I've learned/analyzed several languages myself and I know what aspects of a language cause more difficulties during the learning process. I am also a certified language teacher.

I have done a lot of language and linguistics related things at university, and I have worked part-time as a language teacher and tutor since the age of 16, gradually moving into more challenging positions, like teaching German to immigrants and business people, and tutoring university students in Latin and Ancient Greek. I have never formally qualified as a teacher, but I take teaching very seriously - while making it fun and inspiring at the same time! :)

Since 2007, I have been teaching German as a foreign language in Taipei, Taiwan to Chinese native speakers. Because I had had an interest in the Chinese language and culture for many years, in 2005 I moved to Taiwan to learn Mandarin Chinese. At some point during my stay I had to start looking for work and ended up teaching German at a local language center. Right from the start I loved teaching German and since then have kept on working as a language instructor with a passion, gaining experience over the years and keeping up with improving my skills and expanding my knowledge up to this day.

I have had a lot of experience in professional and freelance settings. I've tutored and taught English, German, and History since about 2013. I am currently working on getting my teaching degree at SUNY Oswego in Oswego, NY. I like to have a personal connection with my students in order to get my students comfortable and motivated to learn English or German. I feel language learning only works when the students are comfortable and not intimidated.
