I have taught at Greenwich College in Sydney for 5 years. I have taught General English pre intermediate, intermediate and upper intermediate and Cambridge. I also did speaking club, which was an optional 1 hr session for students to practise speaking. I’ve taught students privately of various levels. I absolutely love teaching as I’m passionate about helping people meet their goals and I love to learn about different cultures from all over the world. I’ve never actually wanted to become a teacher as my dad would try to push me into becoming one. But since I was a university student, I’ve tutored children and adults and over the years I noticed I actually enjoyed teaching. Now I love it!

As a teacher I am very relaxed so you would feel comfortable chatting to me and learning. The conversations that we would have will be fun but I do adapt to each persons need as a English Tutor.

I have been delivering one on one sessions online for around 6 years and I have learnt a lot of things from my students in that time. In particular, I am interested in offering students basic cultural knowledge and understanding, so that they may understand the references and tone of a conversation between native speakers. I also believe that in an increasingly integrated world, in which questions of politics, music, sport and culture happen on a global level, students should feel able to participate in those conversations. I am also keen on the art of error correction - when to correct and when not to correct.

I know that is something I need to get over myself in my desire to learn to speak Japanese. I don't like getting it wrong. However, getting it wrong won't matter if I don't at least try. I'm a very patient person and a good listener. My goal is to help the students progress providing them a very relaxing atmosphere focusing mainly in their subjects of interest so that they can feel comfortable and motivated to talk about the things they like the most, improving their speaking skills at the same time.

After obtaining TEFL Certification from the Language Institute at Chiang Mai University I taught classes at Pro Language Chiang Mai in 2008. I remained there until returning home from Thailand in February of 2009. Since then I have done private English tutoring in Thailand, Mexico, and United States.

Teaching is a family profession. Afterwards, I started working very young, and have continued teaching ever since for more than 22 years. I will give you shared documents, pdf's, text books & web links, as well as my own materials with outlines of essays, emails and spoken presentations. We will go through model language to target your aims and you can send me, or share any written work and I will then help you to sharpen it to succeed in your goals.

I have many teaching techniques that students have been very pleased with when they work with me. When we meet, I will ask you what you would like to work on specifically. There are many things we could work on, including conversational skills, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing skills, pronunciation, and grammar rules, just to name a few.
