I have worked as a teacher for the past three years while developing my teaching skills through the completion of an MATESOL and enrolling in a doctoral degree in curriculum design and instruction. I have enjoyed working with a variety of ages, from children to adults. In addition to my master's degree, I also hold a teaching license from the state of Massachusetts (Grades 5-12) and have worked with the board of education in Japan for the past year. My professional life has always oscillated around working with people. My career and academic choices were fueled by my fascination with human psychology. I am fully qualified to teach English as a second language, and my qualifications include specialisation in teaching students online as well as teaching Business English. Since moving to the Philippines, I have learned what it means to need a new language for everyday life. I know what it's like to understand what you hear and then be unable to respond. I appreciate that an intelligent person, who has a great vocabulary in their native language, may feel frustrated when they struggle to say something in their second language. I understand how it feels to be unable to show your personality because you cannot think of the right words. I want to help every person who takes a lesson from me feel more comfortable using what they know, and I want to be a part of their continued growth.
