I took part in the CELTA training and acquired the certificate after obtaining my degree. I will do my best to help you on your path of English learning, and I believe we can make quick progress, as my CELTA tutors assessed: I'm a patient teacher who would make my students comfortable during the lesson, I'm able to respond to the feedback and improve my lessons and teaching skills, and most importantly, I am motivated. I appreciate the atmosphere of a communicative and student-centered approach. Instead of just teaching the knowledge, I would attempt to involve learners in the process of discovering the language, as I think this is a better approach to enable learners to remember and understand the knowledge. I would also design proper lessons according to the different needs of learners. I can help you to practice your reading, listening, and speaking abilities. He was okay. However, he was not really prepared for the lesson with me. I sent him the material, then I asked him if we could do some Pinyin practice but he did not really have anything laying around. He ended up finding something on his computer when I specifically asked him again if he had something that I could practice with. Then whew I asked him a few questions regarding “asking questions in Chinese”, he kinda rolled his eyes and said “Oh, this is hard. My head is spinning” or something like that, I don’t remember exactly what he said. His English is great. I’m sure he’s a nice teacher but, unfortunately, we did not click.
