Giới thiệu bản thân
Là giáo viên italki từ 25 Jul năm 2016
I was born in Moscow in 1998 to a British father and a Russian mother. I was raised fully bilingual and with a great familiarity with both Anglosphere (British and American) and Russian culture. I have lived in Russia, England, Canada, and Spain.
I am personally interested in a number of subjects, including classical literature, philosophy, history, linguistics, and mathematics.
I really enjoy meeting and teaching many different kinds of students, reading articles which are interesting to the students, giving grammatical presentations, and having conversations with learners!
Tôi với tư cách là giáo viên
I taught English informally to classmates since a young age, until receiving a teaching qualification at the age of 18.
I have worked in various environments, including:
• Teaching at public/grammar/polytechnic schools in Austria to students aged 10 to 14 with levels of proficiency A2-C1.
• Teaching online at italki to students aged 7 to 77 with levels of proficiency A2-C1.
• Teaching traditional grammar and writing to British students at private tutoring organisation EMS in Milton Keynes, England, aged 12-16 with level of proficiency C2.
Phong cách dạy & bài học của tôi
I like my lessons to have a healthy balance of light-heartedness and studiousness. It is important for the technical aspects of a language to be mastered, but it is also important for us to enjoy each-other’s company, which is why I like to encourage free conversation when possible.
I correct pronunciation mistakes which might confuse a native speaker, but I don’t correct minor mispronunciations. It is difficult to get a perfect British or American accent, which is why I recommend studying the language for efficiency – not for aesthetics. If you want me to give better attention to your pronunciation, and correct even the minor mistakes, let me know about that before the lesson!

I have a quite high anxiety level and usually takes lots of time to talk freely with teachers. I think Vasily is considerate and someone comfortable to talk with.
Plus, Vasily gives me additional information related to the articles about geography, historical backgrounds and more. It broadens my horizon for sure and that makes me study English harder.

Vasily is the best teacher on italki, as always. I have had 9 sessions with him, and definitely will continue. He always gives me a lot of opportunities to practice and always encourages me to speak. He prepares plenty of interesting topics every time and kindly points out my mistakes to make me improve. Vasily is very professional, intelligent, and kind. I have taken courses with more than 5 instructors on italki, but Vasily is the only one that makes me feel comfortable to speak English and can't wait to have classes with again. Thank you, Vasily! I believe I can become a better English speaker with your help!

I have little free time due to my job and studying at the university. But I'm looking forward to the next lesson with Vasily because all of them are very interesting, useful and fascinating. Thank you very much!
