I have been tutoring Korean since when I studied at university. I had many opportunities to meet foreign students and to teach them Korean. Also, I have taught Korean to Russian employees at Korean companies. I know about the struggles of learning new languages, I have been through that process. The biggest thing I realized during tutoring and learning new languages is that the alphabet, basic grammar, writing and reading are all important, but the most important thing is to enjoy learning with confidence.

I am currently taking a program to become a government certified teacher. I have experience of teaching children in USA for about 2 years and I really enjoyed it. I like to motivate my students, mostly let my student solve the problems and challenges alone because I believe in that way students can practice more with the grammar, but I am happy to help my students if they find it too challenging.

3. My opinion on learning languages: - True beginners would benefit from using a textbook or other materials to learn. You are in the best position to choose your own study plan! ** For example: I studied English through watching American TV shows! (Seinfeld and That 90’s show! I still watch Seinfeld..Haha!) I used to get a script of the show and spend time looking up the meaning of the words. But there were so many phrases and expressions I could not figure out. I also really wanted to know how to talk like a native speaker! So that was the time I decided to study with my tutor! It was so helpful to study with a tutor and I noticed that I was getting better and better every day!

Since I became a Korean teacher, I'd like to give wider publicity to forenigners. My native language is Korean and I have a lot of experience teaching the Korean language not only in Korea but also overseas. I've also been studying some foreign languages so far. So I know how to study and teach language, I'm confident teaching Korean to high a standard.

Korean and English are very different languages. The way people say thing is different and the word order is also very different. (In Korean, the verb comes last). For example, in English, we say "What are you talking about?" But in Korean, we say "What kind of saying is it? (=무슨 말이에요?)" Also, in English, we say "Happy birthday." But in Korean, we say "Birthday congratulations (= 생일 축하해요)." Example like these show just how different English and Korean are. If we literally translate English to Korean, it sound very unnatural. So, when we study Korean, memorizing natural Korean sentences is very important. I will teach you how to make natural Korean sentences.

My teaching style is relationship-oriented, thoroughly prepared, patient, and friendly. I pride myself in making sure students feel supported and encouraged during the educational relationship. My approach when working with students is highly attentive and customized. I use a personalized curriculum and thoroughly prepared teaching materials to accomplish this when working with students with various levels, motivations, and goals. I practiced teaching method of Korean language as part of a training course that I took part to become a Korean language teacher back in college years. I taught one of my fellow students when I was in Sweden, and more recently I have been tutoring a college student until now.

I am more specialized in the grammar, and building my teaching experience with above intermediate learners. Because I found that beginning learners can learn much efficiently from their mother-tongue speaking teachers, I started to focus on upper learners. Me as a teacher, I am quite obsessed with teaching Korean language and that drove me to continue learning more in Korean study and become a researcher.

I've been over a year since I taught Korean to learners who want to learn it. Also, the experience of teaching English learners is more than 7 years. From young students to adult learners, I taught with basic English and conversation. And the order of Korean and English grammar is the opposite. I taught English grammar according to the student's ability. It also led people from various nationalities to meet and study Korean from two years ago. First of all, I majored in elementary education which teaches all kind of subjects to elementary kids. Therefore, since I was 20, I've taught various age groups from 5 years old kid to adults. The languages I taught were mainly Korean, English, and Chinese characters(한자). I have an experience staying in Canada when I was little, so I can speak English as well.
