I have a bachelor's degree in Early childhood education 👶👦👧 and thus have had wonderful experiences of teaching and playing with children as well as youth in my spare time when I was still in South Korea. About teaching Korean, I have happened to teach more than 15 students within 6 months of becoming a tutor in Germany and look forward to meeting more people passionate about learning Korean with me here on Italki! 🤴👸

For fun communication, I’ll ask students what they are interested in, and I will prepare a range of materials such as articles, video clips, photographs and more in my classes for discussion and conversation. Topics could be anything: movies, music, travel, food. I think that even fashion or playing video games could be a proper topic to learn Korean. There’s no good or bad topics to learn Korean. My lessons can help you build your vocabulary, improve your use of written and spoken grammar, and confidently communicate in Korean. We, as language learners need the motivation to keep learning. In my opinion, that kind of motivation mainly comes from having regular conversations with native speakers, especially those who have experienced the same struggles of learning a new language. In that sense, I really want to be a supporter of yours. I also majored art and art Studies, art history, and now I work as an art teacher. If this is a topic that interests you, then I think we have a lot to gain from exchanging our different experiences of Art.

Before I call myself a teacher, I'm a lifelong learner. I struggled with English at school. Years of learning but still was not able to hold a conversation. So what made me change? You can't expect someone to learn a language through random grammar or irrelevant vocabularies. How much do you think it would serve when you actually talk to people? It's about making personal connection. This is what I realised when I nearly got my passport stolen while traveling Egypt. It made me speak, initiate and argue. I cared nothing but the conversation to deal with it. From then, I completely changed the way I learn. I'd like you to have the same attitude, like an angry backpacker!

Since I majored in English education, I can speak English when you don't speak Korean well enough. I have taught many kinds of students in the last 10 years in all areas of Korean from grammar to conversation. I'm friendly and easy to talk to. I usually like to get to know my students first. After studying Korean Language and Literature at university, I had experience teaching languages for several years in both Korea and Japan. I have also studied Japanese for many years and have spent 18 months living in Tokyo, so I can read, speak, and teach Japanese at an advanced level. During my time in Tokyo I made fun and engaging lessons to teach Korean to school children. 한국에 있는 인하대학교에서 4년간 한국어문학을 전공하면서 동시에 일본어와 영어를 공부했구요, 일본 도쿄에서 교환학생으로 일본문학을 공부하기도 하면서 일본어도 재밌게 배울 수 있었어요. 2019년에는 도쿄에서 학생들에게 한국어를 가르치는 수업도 진행하면서 강사로서의 경력도 쌓아갈 수 있었답니다.

Studied language and education in university: majored in language and education, and studied further about language teaching for three years to get a government-issued teacher certificate (succeeded in getting the certificate in 2011). 2. Started my teaching career in high school: for four years, I taught high school students (aged 16-18) in Gyeonggi province, Korea. Back then, I was a quite young and passionate teacher. 3. As Korean teacher in Hong Kong: with great chances, I happened to meet various students who want to learn Korean for various reasons. From teaching Korean alphabet to discussing economic issues in Korean, I taught lots of students with various Korean levels.

I have a degree in Korean linguistics and literature and hold a CERTIFICATE OF KOREAN LANGUAGE TEACHER, which is internationally recognized. I’ve been teaching Korean to international students, middle school and high school students over 5 years. So I am experienced in communication and teaching all ages and all levels.
