I completed a 120-hour teacher training program of Korean language for foreigners. And I started teaching Korean online since 2019. Students who learn Korean inspire me a lot. I really enjoy helping them with their Korean and achieving their goals. I think it is very important for students to speak Korean as much as possible during classes. So I will give them enough chances to speak and offer proper methods and corrections.

I temporary taught students in elementary school for a semester. it wasn’t language teaching, at least i can tell I’m a patient tutor.

I am a Canadian certified teacher. I also have my B.A in Linguistics as well as diplomas in Early Child Education and TESOL. I have been working in many different school settings including public/private schools and one on one/group tutoring. I am also a mom of busy children, and that let me very patient in teaching anyone. 여러 국가에서 다양한 연령대와 레벨을 가진 학생분들을 많이 상대했습니다. 언어교육뿐만 아니라, 유아교육과 평생교육학도 공부하면서 각기 다른 특성의 학습자들을 더 잘 이해할수 있도록 연구하고 있습니다.

Before I call myself a teacher, I'm a lifelong learner. I struggled with English at school. Years of learning but still was not able to hold a conversation. So what made me change? You can't expect someone to learn a language through random grammar or irrelevant vocabularies. How much do you think it would serve when you actually talk to people? It's about making personal connection. This is what I realised when I nearly got my passport stolen while traveling Egypt. It made me speak, initiate and argue. I cared nothing but the conversation to deal with it. From then, I completely changed the way I learn. I'd like you to have the same attitude, like an angry backpacker!

I can surely tell I am a very patient and kind teacher. I have always thought that the most important thing of being a teacher is to give confidence and accomplishment motivation to students, especially in learning languages. After studying Korean Language and Literature at university, I had experience teaching languages for several years in both Korea and Japan. I have also studied Japanese for many years and have spent 18 months living in Tokyo, so I can read, speak, and teach Japanese at an advanced level. During my time in Tokyo I made fun and engaging lessons to teach Korean to school children. 한국에 있는 인하대학교에서 4년간 한국어문학을 전공하면서 동시에 일본어와 영어를 공부했구요, 일본 도쿄에서 교환학생으로 일본문학을 공부하기도 하면서 일본어도 재밌게 배울 수 있었어요. 2019년에는 도쿄에서 학생들에게 한국어를 가르치는 수업도 진행하면서 강사로서의 경력도 쌓아갈 수 있었답니다.

I have organized and participate in a language meet-up in Korea, which is called 'Language Cast Busan'. The participants were from all over the world. Most of them were interested in learning Korean. As an organizer and participant, I used to help the people in answering their questions regarding Korean.

As a native Korean, teaching Korean to foreign friends is really fun and exciting. So I’ve been trying to improve my teaching skills as a professional Korean teacher.

Until 2 years ago I was working as a researcher at Energy Economics Institute. At the time I taught myself Chinese and Spanish. One of my friend asked me if I can teach Korean to English speakers at his cafe. Because it sounded a lot of fun, so I decided to do it as a volunteer job. It turned out, without doubt, full of fun and rewarding to teach them. Once I decided to do it right, I studied Korean. I'm good at explaining stuff easily. That's why I have a strength of teaching Japanese as well. I wouldn't say learning foreign language as 'studying'. So you shouldn't think Korean and Japanese are difficult. Please feel free to jump into the new adventure. I love teaching an absolute beginner.
