An enthusiastic teacher who is always full of energy during each lesson, I am genuinely interested in languages and how they work, which I believe will make our classes fun & interesting! I have 5 years of experience in teaching adults (general English, business English, test preparation), teenagers (general English, test preparation), and children. As a native speaker of Indonesian, I also offer Bahasa Indonesia classes.

I describe myself as a good listener. As a person who lives in a multicultural society, learning a new language has its own challenge, so I understand the challenges faced by my students. I involved in education (teaching and learning) as the Innovation Hub Coordinator in an International School in Bali, to which this position required me to deliver learning materials in the English language. I also offer Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language) class for tourists in Bali and teach English to Indonesian students for more than 2 years.

I have been teaching Indonesian language as a foreign language since 2010. I used to teach in a physical class from the beginner to the advanced level. I teach mostly adults from many different nationalities with different accents and characters. Therefore, I customize my teaching approach and materials according to the student's requirement and ability. I adapt what students need. Then, communication and ambience are first parts that I concern because when teacher and students have good communication and happy, the goal of learning will be achieved.

I believe language is a living thing that exists when people communicate with each other. That's why making sure students talk as much as possible is my main focus. I work to make sure you learn from real-world material and we do activities that directly relate to things you would encounter in real life. Everything is based on your needs. Now I can only hold 5-7 classes a day. It's not because I don't want to teach more classes, but I want to prepare the best material for my students. I have been teaching Indonesian online to foreigners for over 5 years. I have taught students from all over the world, at any level with a variety of learning goals. I graduated from Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, University of Indonesia, majoring in Communication Science, and I hold a Sertifikat Pengajaran BIPA (Certificate of Teaching Indonesian as a Foreign Language). I also studied several foreign languages at cultural institutions in Indonesia and universities overseas. I love teaching and I am always enthusiastic to help others to study my native language and share about Indonesian culture.

I have been teaching English for about 7 years. In my workplace, I also help some native English teachers learn Indonesian language. I find it's fun. In 2017, I decided to go back to school and learn my mother tongue formally. I always encourage my students to share their interests and passions. Once I know what they are really into, they can speak even more than I expected. Creating a fun and active class atmosphere is a key to help boost my students skills.

I graduated from English Department in my university. I love teaching. I have been teaching for over 10 years. I have experiences in teaching English for a school and a language center from elementary to senior high and professionals. I am also a tutor for foreigners to learn Bahasa Indonesia. Besides, I am excited about nature, that’s why I also like to discuss about it in class.

I want my students to learn as fast and as fun as they can. I will try to create a learning experience that will motivate them to learn more and help them with all the struggles they face throughout the learning process. Overall, I teach my students based on their Indonesian language skill level. I will help my students with writing, pronunciation, Indonesian colloquial, and grammar. I've been living in Jakarta for many years, therefore, I can also help my students to learn Jakartan slang. I can also explain how Indonesian grammar works in English in great detail. I understand very well how both languages work, so I think it would be really beneficial for my students.

I have been a Community Tutor here on Italki since Oktober 2017 and have helped hundreds of students achieve their Indonesian language goals. I love teaching because it's a dynamic and an interesting job. You can teach your students and you can learn from them as well! :) The happiness and joy of the student + their progresses with their target language = my biggest prize (so my students are the ones who motivate me to work better) and I try to combine: a bit of reading, a bit of writing, a bit of conversation, a bit of grammar and a bit of listening by using different resources. I have been teaching some private courses for about 3 years now. My students range from the age of 6 to the age of 35. I do private courses both online and offline. I do not really treat my students as students. I treat them as my friends. With this, I believe that there is no power distance between us that hopefully can make the students feel less pressured.
