I take great pleasure and pride in teaching others. To me it is a bond of trust, and I think that in these days of social isolation that bond is especially valuable. My students I hope would attest that I am a patient and friendly instructor. I strive to create a pleasant and encouraging learning environment and value professionalism. The learning and retaining process is paramount to me. I always make sure my students are following up, and untangle any difficulties before moving ahead. As a teacher (and person) I am very open to all people. It is crucial I believe to have effective communication between teacher and student, and I count empathy amongst my strongest assets.

I have been a dance teacher for 40 years, so that I am sure I love teaching! At some times in the past, I have also given private language lessons at home, but it was hard to fit them into my family life. Now with italki offering online teaching, I am pleased to come back to it. I see teaching fundamentally as a way of communicating. Before starting to instil any skill in my dance students, I try to reach out to each of them and establish the open channel that is key to learning. This is how I am able to teach the difficult technique of classical ballet to complete adult beginners, women and men. Learning a language is no different and I will offer you my complete attention and support.

I have 3 years of experience teaching Hebrew to both advanced and beginners. I am all for jumping in the deep end and just start speaking from lesson 1.

As a teacher I am informal, yet very progressive and will push you to learn and memorise your lessons properly and efficiently. I will provide all the support and encouragement you need to learn. I believe in positive encouragement as one of the strongest tools in learning anything new. If you just want to try a few lessons with me that is absolutely fine even if you can't commit any time for homework between lessons. But I always say the best way to learn is firstly to understand that there is only so far a teacher can take you. If you honestly want to learn and progress it would be best if you spend some of your time between lessons going over material we've covered and practise.

My method of learning involves different aspects : using books, conversations, using body language and through studying short stories. The learning process will mainly be in Hebrew starting from the first lessons. I believe that learning a new language is mostly done by the student so I am here to help you in the learning process. In your lessons with me, I will guide you , give you feedback and also give you the opportunity to practice through hearing and speaking everyday Hebrew. I am also interested in learning from you about your language and culture so together we can have interesting conversations on a wide variety of topics.

I am a professional language teacher; I’ve worked in Avital School in Merom Golan, Danziger School in Qiryat Shemona and Israel’s leading English evening school, High-Q. I have a B.A. in psychology from Tel-Hai College and a B.Ed. in English teaching in Ohalo College. I love my job! I love English, I love Hebrew, and I love explaining them. I specialize in spoken language, pronunciation and conversation, but we can also work on grammar or anything that you feel will boost your confidence and improve your language skills. To determine the learning process, I proceed from the goals of my students. I speak, ask questions, and encourage my students to do the same. I remember that questions can never be stupid. We read stories, newspapers, books, etc. By the way, I have a lot of experience in preparing students for ulpan exams, as well as university exams, for tourism purposes, for reading the Bible or professional vocabulary. Because of my linguistic education, I can explain any, even the most complex grammatical concepts.

Last year I created a language exchange program, where people could teach their native language in exchange to learn a new language. I myself gave classes in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Hebrew and got the opportunity to learn French. It was a really challenging and rewarding project that made me understand the different needs of my students and be creative with the methods of teaching in order to create fun and challenging classes. I'm highly motivated to teach languages, because I know I can help students to get a really useful tool for life. I'm enjoying to be an important part in the process and see the progress and results.
