First and foremost I am a learner who enjoys learning languages as a hobby. So I understand the frustrations and challenges faced by students when they try to mesh the theoretical aspects of acquisition with the realities of speaking practice. I have written a language course for those tackling German and my approach with beginners is to introduce new language in a very structured way and to prioritise patterns above vocabulary, at least at the start. For more advanced students I am happy to select materials based on their interests. I always try to put people at ease and believe that learning should be an enjoyable as well as enriching experience.

I am a positive and patient person. I learned the German language myself and I know what do you need. After studying German as ,,a foreign language " at LMU Munich, I emigrated to Colombia (Bogotá), where I taught German for 4 years at the Goethe Institute. During this time I continued my education and after 2 years I obtained the Grünes Deutsches Diplom (DLL Deutsch Lehrer Lernen). Since I am back in Germany (2 years) I have been teaching German at GLS German Language School in Berlin (I have also experience in Online classes)

You can choose the topics we talk about. I will give you as much input and ideas as you want me to. I am always willing to receive an honest and constructive feedback at any time during the lesson, so that I can adapt to your needs and adjust my teaching style for you.

My work as a teacher includes teaching groups, kids and private students and preparing them for exams from beginners to B2. Some of my students want to improve their skills in order to study in Germany or a German-speaking country. Others need to improve their language skills because of their work in a corporate environment. My classes focus on language skills, such as fluency for professional and private settings, preparing for job interviews or presentations, and dealing with all kind of real-life situations the students may face.

I began teaching in 2004 at a Waldorf school in southern England. I taught a variety of humanities, including German, English, and French. I have also worked in translations for many years, which has helped me to learn the subtleties of expression in the languages I use. I believe in learning naturally, without studying rules and structure (none of us do this with our first language, after all!). I have always enjoyed seeing progress in others, and facilitating this in an effortless way is something I find very rewarding. I have also taught theatre, as well as worked with disadvantaged young people, focusing on motivation, self-esteem and self-confidence.

I have studied some dozen or so languages to varying degrees, so I’m quite experienced with various methods of learning. I have also taught classes in university before, both language and otherwise.

I have been teaching German since 2000, to refugees, asylum seekers and people who need German for their work visas. I have taught children as well as adults. I have work experience in teaching business German and public speaking. In my lessons, I use material and topics that the students prefer, because I think that we learn best when we deal with topics that we love to talk about. PLEASE READ: I am happy to help with rescheduling classes up to 1 day before the scheduled time, but I cannot accept last minute changes. I do not make exceptions to this. For abusive practice, I do not offer packages anymore. Thank you for your understanding.

I was often used to help refine the pronunciation and sentence building of my schoolmates, when I was younger. Thus, I can easily speak slower, with an accent that is easier to understand or use words which are more basic. I have learned a lot on iTalki, until now. I believe my teaching has improved and my system works. I have had complete beginners, thus I feel comfortable with taking the first steps with you. Nonetheless, I am also guiding more advanced students. I myself do occasionally make mistakes, whilst on this path of becoming a good tutor, if something surpasses my knowledge, I will make sure to find it after our lesson and fill you in.

I also have been teaching german and spanish for more than 5 years. That´s why, I know quite well, what the best strategy is, if you want to learn a new language in a fast and easy way. Although I have a career in biology, I really love teaching languages and I have to say that, it´s something that has taught me a lot in return.

I believe learning should be fun. I´m not a professional teacher but over the years I got quite a few opportunities to teach German and English for fun (sometimes, in Myanmar, for example, also for cookies...) and every single time it was a very special experience. To become an even better teacher I´m currently enrolled in a 6 months online TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) course. Learning a language should be fun. In my view, the best way to master and enjoy it, is by speaking it. It doesn’t matter, if your grammar is not perfect at the beginning, most important you get the chance to have conversations in the language you learn. People will understand what you want to say, even if the grammar isn’t perfect. Grammar comes with time. This is how I learned having basic conversation in Spanish just after 3 weeks of language school.

You will quickly notice how much I love my job: I smile a lot! As a teacher for Elementary, Secondary and adult students, I am always ensuring a friendly, supporting learning atmosphere. My teaching super power is preparing students for language tests in a smooth and effective way, because my teaching style follows a very focused and intentional approach. I help my students to find their learning type and to develop strategies to reach their individual goal. As I have worked and lived in German-, French-, and English-speaking countries for longer periods of time, I am linguistically flexible and highly skilled. I love to communicate and building a relationship of trust with my students.

I am a very patient and encouraging person which is why I am trying to create a warm and inspiring learning atmosphere, where you as a student can feel comfortable and study German with me without any pressure. I try to provide you with a variety of vocabulary for different contexts and to mediate a feeling for intuitive speaking.

Seit Jahren bin ich als Lehrkraft im Bereich Kunst aktiv und leite eine Private Kunstakademie. Ich gebe seit meinem Studienabschluss (Meisterschülerin) als Malerin entsprechenden Unterricht und war auch Dozentin an einer Kunsthochschule in Norddeutschland. My experience in teaching comes through my work in the field of art. I'm running a private Art Academy. Since finishing my university degree in the art of painting I'm giving classes in that field. I also used to work for an art school (university) in Northern Germany.

As a teacher with 5 years of serious study and experience I've been able to use my skills to teach adults, teens and children, English, Turkish and German. Any aspect YOU would like to focus on is within my skillset such as grammar, speaking, writing, listening, reading and vocabulary.I am well acquainted with the challenges and difficulties of the process of language learning. Thus, I have developed effective methods to overcome these difficulties. My goal is to make learning a language exciting and productive!

Speaking is the best way to learn a language, so my lessons usually center around having an actual conversation in German, but I will also give you grammar instructions and help you with pronunciation as and when necessary. If you struggle with any particular grammar topic, we can of course also dedicate a whole lesson to that. Generally I'm happy to adapt myself to your needs and preferences. While we talk, I make extensive notes in a google document, I write down new vocabulary with example sentences, grammar instructions, corrections, etc. You'll have access to this document during and after the classes.

In my opinion the best way to learn a language is through speaking it. To improve your German I would let you talk all the time and note feedback in the meantime. If you have some specific wishes I can prepare a more structured session with a specific goal in mind. I'm able to talk about any topic. Should be easy to find a topic that interests you. I'm flexible, i.e. besides language teaching I can work with you on goals you are aiming towards. To name few: preparation for a job interview, negotiations or scenarios in business context.

I am a university trained teacher (secondary school, 1st and 2nd German state exam) and I have taught in Primary as well as in Secondary School settings. All in all, I studied 5 years and in addition I completed 2 years of teaching practice in order to be an acknowledged teacher in Germany. I taught German to French students in France and I have worked as a Secondary School teacher for French in Germany. I taught all levels, from total beginners to proficient learners. Furthermore, I am a registered teacher in Australia. I specialized in teaching intermediate and advanced learners.
