Choosing a teacher, the first thing I do is calculate the returning student ratio: Divide the total lessons by the number of students, then subtract 1 (as the 1st lesson isn’t a returning student). Pronunciation is my favorite “hack” — master it now, before learning thousands of words with bad pronunciation, and your path will be a lot easier. It’s not so much about accent, but we really need to prioritize pronunciation, because your pronunciation is the pronunciation you expect to hear, so if your pronunciation is off, your listening will be 10x more difficult. I teach my students with a focus on communication and on interesting topics. My students will engage with the English language and learn in language immersion. Students will work at their own pace, I will come along side them and encourage them in their studies.
