Hi, my name’s Steven and I’m interested in tutoring Spanish and ESL. I come from a Latin American family, so I grew up speaking Spanish. While I was in high school, I had several friends who were Latin American immigrants. I truly absorbed Spanish language and Latin American culture during my younger years. While I was in college, I enrolled in and excelled in several Spanish courses. Also, as detailed below, I helped Latino immigrant children with their homework for some time. During my time in law school and afterwards, I volunteered for two local pro-bono legal organizations. At those organizations, I helped Spanish-speaking clients with tax-related issues.

I have experience helping Latino immigrant children with their homework after school. I volunteered for a Latino community-focused nonprofit in Chicago over the course of a year while I was in college.

Derslerim ve öğretme tarzım

In terms of my methodology for both Spanish and ESL lessons, I can tutor students of all ages. When I begin tutoring a student, I find out what they’d specifically like to improve, and base my lessons on their goals. If a student would like to improve on a general level, then each lesson would typically be a mix of vocabulary on a certain topic (like vacation, work, or the family), one or two topics in grammar (like the difference between "por" and "para" and contractions in English), and culture/reading/conversation, as time permits. However, this curriculum is flexible and customizable. Also, I can assign additional exercises to take home if the student wishes.
