Hi! My name is Petra, and I´m 35 years old. I was born and raised in the Netherlands, but I live in Guatemala since 2008, in a town in the highlands called Quetzaltenango. I have studied International Tourism Management and Consultancy, and since 2012 I run my own travel and volunteer agency. Due to my job, I have interacted with many different people from all over the world! On a daily basis, I speak 3 languages (Dutch, Spanish and English), and in the past I also studied a bit of French and German. Since I live in another country for 12 years now, I can relate to learning different languages, and integrating in a new culture. Let´s get started!

I am a people-person, I like to help others. I adapt easily to different types of persons and learning styles. I am very patient, so I don´t mind correcting mistakes, explain simple things, and all that with a smile on my face, because learning should be fun! I can help you improve your Dutch, Spanish or English, and I can tell you about the different cultures I have lived in as well.

Derslerim ve öğretme tarzım

My lessons are mainly based on conversation to start with. While we practice conversation, I can help you with pronunciation, vocabulary, verbs and a bit of grammar. Practicing is a very important part of learning the language; it gives me the opportunity to correct you, and you become more confident. The lessons are personalized to your style and needs, and if necessary, I will include some (online) study materials to make the lessons more dynamic. Please note: - I don´t teach children - due to pregnancy, I will teach normal in November, reduce my hours in December, and possibly stop teaching somewhere in January.

Once more, a great lesson with Petra. I highly recommend her to get better in speaking Dutch. The classes are very easy going and always feel too short.
