My name is Izzy and I have worked as a teaching assistant in primary schools for 8 years, focusing mainly on EYFS and KS1. I have a Level 5 TEFL certificate and have used this to support EAL children with their English language learning. I love working with children of all ages and am more than happy to assist with their English learning. I am also more than happy to work with adults, practicing English through conversation. I am passionate about languages and am currently learning Italian.

As a teacher I am very patient, speaking slowly and carefully and checking the student’s pronunciation and understanding. I am able to think of and present new ways of explaining a particular point should the student have difficulty in understanding. I am professional in my manner and appearance and have excellent time keeping. I believe in constructive criticism and also lots of praise to give the student confidence.

Please book a trial lesson first so that I may meet you or your child and determine your level of English and what you would like to learn. I am offering conversation lessons for adults where we can discuss a range of topics and I can introduce new vocabulary and do role play conversations. For beginner level children I am offering phonics lessons to help with reading skills. I use flash cards, props, lots total physical response (TPR). They will learn basics greetings such as introducing themselves and greeting others. My lessons are fun and relaxed and I am patient and give lots of praise! If you or your child would like to learn English with me I look forward to meeting you!
