* I am an American English speaker, focussed on teaching English to adult Vietnamese speakers * I have been teaching English to speakers of other languages for 10 years * I have a CELTA certificate, a Bachelors of Arts degree in Comparative Literature and a Masters Degree in TESOL. * I worked as a technologist and business analyst before becoming an English teacher. * While living in Vietnam, I am studying Vietnamese, and am particularly interested in teaching Vietnamese students, and will prioritize lesson requests from Vietnamese students. * My hobbies include music and martial arts.

* My lessons depend on my students' needs. Because all students are different, each requires a different set of lessons. * The most important things for me regarding teaching and studying a language include working hard, working consistently, setting goals, and, most important, having fun! * Language study is challenging, and sometimes frustrating, so we must consistently remind ourselves of our progress, while celebrating or successes and examining and learning from our weaknesses.

* As for what kinds of lessons I can teach, there are many kinds. This is first and foremost, because there are many kinds of students. But also because of my undergraduate study in literature, my 25+ year background as a technology project manager and business analyst, my experience teaching people from many countries, my experience helping learners with standardized test preparation (including IELTS and TOEIC), and my experience teaching academic and general English. * As for what lessons I will teach you, I will want to understand your reasons for studying English, and your goals as an English speaker. Why are you studying English? What do you want to achieve with English?
