Hi! My name is Nelly :) I'm South African and a native Xhosa speaker. I would love to meet you and help you achieve your goals. Xhosa is the beautiful "click click" language as some like to affectionately call it, or the home language of Tata Madiba (Nelson Mandela). It is also widely used for business purposes in the Eastern Cape and Western Cape provinces of South Africa. I look forward to meeting you! Masithethe!

I have completed my TEFL certificate, and I will use those skills to help my students in their Xhosa learning journey. I also work at a local backpackers on the Wild Coast and I can use that business background to assist professionals in learning business Xhosa.

I like a more relaxed style of teaching, and we will focus on pronunciation and vocabulary. Grammar will be practiced through conversation. I am friendly, patient and encouraging. As I live in the heart of the amaXhosa people, you will also get local Xhosa news articles, videos, and documents as reading material! Straight from the source! Molo! Igama lam ngu Miriam. A great first lesson with Nelly! I'm a total beginner in Xhosa and need some basic knowledge of this language for a project. Nelly was very patient and supportive. We learnt the click sounds today and some basic phrases. I'm looking forward to our next class and learning more about this beautiful language. Enkosi, Nelly!
