Hello, my name is Sergio Henriquez. I am an English and Spanish teacher at a local school and I really like to help people advance in a foreign language. I like to share my culture and get to know other people's cultures, and I also like to read and to learn. I'm really passionate about language learning, so no matter what your current level is, I can help you get towards fluency!

I have six months at a formal job teaching English and Spanish and 2 years of informal tutoring, I became a teacher because I've always liked to help people understand each other and themselves better; I believe teaching a foreign language and a different culture is one way to do that.

"Speaking is the ultimate way to get to fluency in a foreign language" -Benny Lewis, famous polyglot. I tend to focus more on conversations, even with beginners. Why? Because real conversations with real people are what you ultimately aim for when learning a foreign language! I am very easy going and patient, but I like to plan lessons in advance. To these end, I would ask you please, contact me and let me know your current level and topics of interest before our lesson begins.

I got so much value out of this lesson. Sergio really pushes me out of my comfort zone to speak and that is awesome because I leave the lesson with more knowledge that I am eager to put into practice. Always a nice conversation. Thank you!

What a nice guy! We had an extremely amusing time talking together about all sorts of things! I think I'll learn lots of new South American Spanish vocabulary from Sergio! It's also good for tuning my ears up, so that they (my ears!) can understand Spanish spoken with a different accent from the ones I'm used to in Spain.
