I started teaching in 2009, when I began tutoring Dutch teenagers who needed some help with their Dutch, English, German or French lessons. In 2017, I decided it was time to broaden my horizons and start working for Italki as a community tutor. Now that I've acquired my TEFL Certificate as well as a Master's Degree in Child and Education Studies, I feel ready to offer you even better services! Aside from teaching on Italki, I also have experience as a classroom teacher at an international school. I can offer both informal conversation practice and structured classes, to both beginners and advanced learners. I mainly work with online learning materials, such as an online workbook, videos, pictures, articles and short texts, songs, grammar exercises and mock exams. During the classes, I will work with a variety of topics and tools so that learning will never get boring and you'll get plenty of practice. Since I believe the learning process should be student-centered, I will adapt my classes to your level, pace, and interests.

Petra is doing a really great job with preparation to the inburgering exams. Very practical and efficient. Just scored 9 out of 10 for my writing exam, without having any real language practice at work or at home, only after taking these lessons. Can highly recommend Petra.
