Hello! I’m Carolina and I come from Emilia-Romagna, a region in northern Italy! I’ve always liked learning languages and meeting people from different cultures, so I have also lived in the US and in the UK. In Scotland, I obtained an undergraduate degree in Arabic, Persian and Russian and a master’s in Middle Eastern Cultural Studies. Later, I moved to England, where I am enrolled in a master’s in linguistics at Oxford University. I also speak French and Spanish which I learnt in high school and kept practicing in my free time after that. Besides languages, I have a strong interest in arts, music, reading and cinema. I also like to practice outdoors sports such as trekking and cycling!

I love teaching languages and finding creative ways to pass on my knowledge to students, especially because seeing them improve gives me a huge satisfaction. I am both a language teacher and a language learner, so I am aware of the challenges one faces in learning new languages and of what is needed to overcome them. I believe that developing confidence in one’s ability to speak is just as important as learning new words and grammar, so I strive to make my students feel at ease and overcome the difficulties we all face in language learning! I am very patient, precise, easy-going and friendly. I respect your time and try to make every minute count in my lessons.

Derslerim ve öğretme tarzım

In my lessons, I provide texts, multimedia materials and tailored exercises in Italian. I develop a different program for each student based on what you are most interested in and on your learning needs. If you need to learn the grammar, I like to use my experience in linguistics to explain it clearly, but I also understand that some students may need to specifically practice conversation or improve their listening, reading or writing skills. So, I like to be flexible. I welcome students of all levels, including complete beginners. I’m happy to hold lessons in languages other than English, if that’s easier for you!
