I'm an American living in Northern India since 2010 who recently shifted to Nepal, and I've been teaching English since 2012. Previously, in NYC, I was an IT/Web project manager but I left all of that to reinvent myself when I moved to India to pursue creative writing and other interests. My writing led to a closer study of English, which led me to teaching. I love music and culture, food, art, philosophy, science and well, all kinds of things really. I have degrees or certificates in things like Environmental Science, TEFL, music, design, and project management. I'm a good conversationalist, so you can rely on me to keep things flowing during lessons.

As an ESL teacher (I have certification with TEFL) I was stunned to learn that something like 95% of students fail to reach even marginal fluency. To me that means there is something seriously wrong with the way students are being taught. I set out to discover the roots of this problem and I've discovered that there are several reasons. I've developed a method to help, but I also just teach conversational English if you prefer that.

I will teach you how to use your brain's natural language ability to rapidly increase your fluency, without needing to remember complex grammar rules or translate. I will show you how English works with easy to understand and well integrated concepts. You study these and we observe the patterns of simple direct language and you do a lot of speaking of correct and well understood English. My program is a kind of mind/body training that uses both cognitive learning and analysis, as well as motor learning through a lot of carefully designed speaking practice. You will develop your natural language abilities, which will allow you to speak English as easily as you speak your first language.

Steve corrects my writing and explains where I was wrong that really helps me to improve my English because I can see and analyze two versions: wrong and correct. He was a product manager so his lessons are useful to me because I'm a software engineer:)

I like lessons with Steve. He uses a unique way of teaching English which helps me understand the language fundamentals and improve my fluency. Also Steve helps me a lot in my professional life and communication with my colleagues/partners as he has good knowledge and understanding of IT terms.
