Hello! It's nice to meet you, my name is Jamie and I am an English teacher specialising in academic English and proofreading. I am passionate about helping non-native English-speaking students and researchers improve their academic speech and writing. I am originally from Honolulu, Hawaii but I now call Switzerland my home. I am currently a PhD candidate in economics, and I work as a researcher and data analyst. I have been an academic mentor in a university setting for two years, where I supervised undergraduate and masters level students writing their theses. I also have several years of experience teaching English to students and young professionals.

My teaching style is very flexible. I have taught both structured and unstructured lessons, it is totally up to you which you would prefer. I am always on time, and I enjoy getting to know my students as individuals and help them to achieve their goals.

During our first lesson, I would like to get to know you and what your goals are. From there, we can develop a plan keeping in mind any deadlines that you have. For more informal-style lessons, I prefer to have a casual conversation about your topic of interest!
