Nando is a very attentive teacher. He is able to detect your weaknesses within the language quickly and helps you strengthen them. He is very well-spoken and easy to understand with extensive general knowledge which makes conversations both beneficial and interesting. Nando is also very engaging and supportive. He is also a very prepared tutor who goes above and beyond the sessions to help as he often prepares materials outside of the sessions to help you. Above all, my conversations with Nando are interesting and fun, the time always flys by!

If you are looking for a wonderfully organized teacher with great attention to detail who is friendly and encouraging, you should certainly sign up for a class with Nando. Today we covered basics in the language: alphabet, sounds, combinations of sounds that are often challenging, particularly for native English speakers. Nando used various aspects of Croatian culture as a prism through which to aptly explain structure of the language, conventional usage, and other details that are integral to the language. We began first with a dialogue, which I enjoyed because it got me producing sounds from the language immediately. As you can see from the length of my comments, this was indeed a really good lesson and I will definitely be continuing as his student. Hvala puno, Nando. Vidimo se uskoro.

Nando provided a great lesson with a balance of culture, pronunciation, phrases and grammer. He started with an interesting and informative description of the regions where Catalan is spoken and a brief summary of its recent history. Providing this context was a great to start the lesson. We then covered phrases that are useful in lessons ("How do you say x?" "What does x mean?" etc), with related everyday uses of the words, as well as pointing out some of the grammatical features that appeared more than once in the phrases. Finally, we started discussing pronunciation of the alphabet- Nando was generous with time and willing to keep going to finish the alphabet, but unfortunately I had to go.
