I have been teaching for around four years at both secondary and English language schools in and around Brisbane city. At the English schools I taught a range of students from beginners through to IELTS preparation. I really enjoyed meeting the wide diversity of motivated students that attended these schools, and learning about their backgrounds and future plans.

I’ve been teaching English for about six years in Japan. My English accent is a London accent. Every year in spring and autumn, I teach academic English to undergraduate students in Japan. I teach speaking, listening, reading and writing courses. I also have experience teaching business English to the employees of a Japanese multinational company, one of the leading semiconductor companies in the world. I have also taught English to nurses in Japan.

As a language student myself I know how difficult and even scary it can be to begin learning a new language. That is why I like my classes to be relaxed and fun. In my experience as a teacher I have taught English language face-to-face to adults from many different countries. At the university level I have taught arts, humanities, communications academic writing, and literature.

As a teacher, I am just as friendly and relaxed as I am in my everyday life. But I also know when to be serious. I am eager to help you with whatever you are having trouble with, but I definitely believe that the student is responsible for his/her learning in the end. I like to lead the student to the 'correct answer' instead of simply revealing the answers.

I became a teacher when I came back to Brazil in 2014. At the same time I started teaching, I took my TESOL course and I’ve been teaching privately ever since. I really appreciate students who are independent and aren't afraid to step out of their comfort zone and learn with their own mistakes. And forget what you've heard about learning a second language being difficult as an adult. If you maintain consistency in your studies, you will reach fluency. I started speaking English when I was 30 and I became proficient not long after. If I was able to achieve this as an adult, you can as well.

My aim is to help you to improve your English, using Skype, Zoom or another platform, in a way that suits you and is enjoyable. Whether you want to improve your writing and grammar, prepare for a job interview, study in English or simply practise and improve your conversation skills I believe that you will learn quicker if the lessons are based on topics that interest you. I enjoy meeting and talking with people, and by finding out a little about you I will be able to deliver more stimulating and engaging lessons. Please note that I only teach adult students (aged 18 and over).

I find a communicative approach (CLT) with an emphasis on conversation is most suitable for online classes, preferably with additional offline task-based assignments to further progress. I use a variety of materials and sources depending on a student's needs and background, and incorporate real life materials and relatable content for every class when possible. I specialize in Business English, General English, test and interview preparation, American English, and Intermediate and Advanced students.

9th January 2020, I will not be teaching after the end of February 2020. I got a diploma in TESOL in 2007 and I taught at language centers and provide one to one tuition to Korean students for many years. I have been teaching on italki since Sep 27, 2013. So far, I have done more than 2500 lessons. I just love meeting new people and helping them gain more confidence in speaking English. I love speaking about a wide range of topics.

I studied Teaching English as a Foreign Language when I moved to Turkey and started teaching 3 years ago to 3 to 6 year olds at a private nursery. I love teaching in general. It's where my passion is! For 5 years, a part of my job back in Japan was to help non-Japanese students improve their Japanese fluency and prepare for moving to Japan. After 2+ years of teaching in iTalki, I'm very confident to serve various types of students. My students range from absolute beginners to JLPT N1 level, from 10 years old to adults, from different cultural background, from students to scientists, engineers, teachers, and artists.

I have spent two and a half years working at a language academy giving classes to a wide range of students of different levels, ranging from babies to C2 proficiency classes. Additionally with my TEFL I believe I have gained a lot of experience and I believe that my classes are dynamic, interesting and that I have the skills to adapt to all levels!
