I've attended language classes for some time and I know everything that one goes through while learning languages including the boring and depressive times. I hadn’t reached anything with those bunches of exercices and many times nonsense vocabulary, so I started learning language by myself. I’ve found a way through which everybody can learn.

The most important thing for me to learn another language is to have fun while studying so you won't lose your motivation, that's why I like to use songs, movies and TV series in my lessons but we can talk about any topic you want.

I have been teaching private lessons around quite a time now and I am currently in University (2020) studying "Letras", that is equivalent to a Linguistic course, in this case with a specialisation in English and Portuguese, I don't believe in "learn grammar method", so let's talk and be free to grow your languages skills first to communicate and express yourself and with that you can develop even more your skills.

I have tutored for two years at the College of Charleston in German, French and Portuguese, as well as taught the beginning conversation courses for Portuguese students. During these positions, I worked a lot with textbooks and lesson plans, but I normally will adapt the students wants and needs to make sure they feel at ease and comfortable in order to learn the best they possibly can. As stated, my current work is with professionals, but I have experience with various profiles and am trained to work with students of various cultural backgrounds, learning styles, and ages. In addition, I can proficiently explain grammar in Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Dutch apart from my C2 languages.

I have been teaching English to Brazilians for over 15 years and I have taught Portuguese to speakers of other languages as well. I have a degree in Languages, the Certificate in Proficiency in Englsh and the CELTA (Teaching Certificate) from Cambridge.

I'm very enthusiastic when the topic is learning a language. My focus as a teacher will be to enhance conversation skills and assist the student with grammar, structure sentence, pronunciation, oral fluency and vocabulary. I'm aiming to enable students to communicate with confidence. The level of confidence that can only be achieved with accumulated conversation time. My philosophy for teaching comes from how I learned English, I didn't learn it in school, but by myself. By the time I had English taught to me at school, I already spoke it freely. Why? Because the cartoons on TV were in English without subtitles, and the videogames I played were also untranslated, so I learned, while enjoying myself and without effort. School makes you hate learning because it is forced. And it is with this in mind that I would like to teach you Portuguese, it must be fun.

AT THE MOMENT, I AM OFFERING ONLY CONVERSATION CLASS. I love to communicate and I truly believe that human beings are always capable of learning. I understand that to teach is be challenged every day to think outside the box. Each student is unique and has his own form and time to learn. Humor and a light atmosphere are essential for an outstanding and satisfying class for both student and teacher.
