I started teaching in language schools in 2014. I've been teaching Portuguese and English private lessons since 2015 with a personalized approach. Internationally certificated as a professional teacher with Premier TEFL, in 2017. Experienced with children, teenagers, and adults of all language levels.

I have been teaching English and Vietnamese for 2 years. I love teaching languages individually because I can clearly see my students' improvement, which is my core motivation.

I have a neutral accent from years of living abroad and interacting with speakers of different variants of English. I lived in China for three years and in France for a year and a half. I'm a political scientist by training, with a focus on international relations (Master in Global Studies), and I also have a Master of Arts in English (MA) with an emphasis on social linguistics and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Since I completed my CELTA in 2016, I have been teaching English across the world, in Asia, Europe, Australia and South America. I’ve taught both in the classroom and in private lessons, including nearly 2000 hours online. Teaching online requires a different set of skills as a teacher, and I believe over the past 2 years I have mastered these skills to provide a balance between learning grammar and vocabulary and spending as much time speaking and communicating as possible. My students all have different preferences and styles when it comes to learning English, so however you like to learn - I am the teacher for you!

In 2018 I travelled to Peru to teach English to children of primary years. There, I worked in two schools - one in the beautiful Andes, and one in the arid city of Arequipa - assisting students with grammar, vocabulary and their Cambridge speaking examinations. I have some (limited) knowledge of other examinations such as TOEFL and IELTS as I also worked in a private language academy where I taught adult students of all levels. Please note: I don't teach anyone under the age of 16 on Italki.

I've attended language classes for some time and I know everything that one goes through while learning languages including the boring and depressive times. I hadn’t reached anything with those bunches of exercices and many times nonsense vocabulary, so I started learning language by myself. I’ve found a way through which everybody can learn.

Llevo dando clases de español y de inglés desde hace 5 años. He dado clases a alumnos de nivel principiante, intermedio, avanzado y niños. También he dado cursos de preparación TOEFL y cursos especializados en negocios. I’ve been giving classes of English and Spanish for 5 years. I’ve given classes to students that are beginners, intermediate, advances and kids. I’ve also taught courses to prepare for the TOEFL exam and business related.

I'm quite patient and very understanding if you ever feel frustrated or just simply overwhelmed, so I can be very helpful when it comes to learning a challenging topic. I really think pronunciation is very important, since we almost always communicate verbally, and that's how we make first impressions. Initially with a new student I would start off with general conversation in order to gauge your specific needs. Once we have determined those needs, with both your own and my input in the discussions I will progress to more structured lesson plans. I am patient, helpful and friendly with a wicked sense of humour... I am not overly sensitive to criticism from students, which makes it a lot easier for students to be comfortable in indicating their personal requirements for learning from me – in fact I aim to learn as much from my students as they learn from me.

I have almost 20 years teaching experience. I have the TEFL certificate. I have taught all levels and ages in Taiwan, Japan, China and to foreign students in California, USA. One of my favorite things is to have fun conversation about interesting subjects and I am good at coming up with subjects and topics. I am also good at exercises directed specifically at 'listening' or 'speaking'. I am very good at teaching grammar to all levels and advanced aspects such as idioms, manner of speech and phrasal verbs to advanced students.

I have no formal training as a teacher but with video calling and technology I believe I can help those looking to master the English language and be able to get around independently. I want to keep my teaching conversational style with each student and tailor the lessons to the student. I want my students to feel comfortable with me and likewise me with them and let the students choose the topics they want to discuss because usually this makes the lessons more fun and enjoyable for both of us.
