My choice of teaching as a career was not made lightly; rather, it was the culmination of a process of reflection about what I wanted to do with my life and my education. I am a fully qualified English teacher with 10 years of experience teaching students from all over the world and of all different levels. I started teaching in 2010, earning my CELTA qualification in 2012 and starting my DELTA in 2017. I specialise in teaching higher level students and exam preparation for IELTS and TOEFL. However, throughout my career I have taught everyone from beginner to advanced and from students to CEO's and I can plan lessons for students of any level.

I graduated from Cambridge University in 1989. I qualified as a CELTA teacher in 2004 and have worked with International House and the British Council. I have taught General English, Business English, Legal English and Cambridge/IELTS Exam classes.

I am flexible and approachable, and I make a concerted effort to help ease any tensions a student may be feeling towards learning a new language or attempting to pass a test. I am British and speak the English language with a very neutral accent which makes me easy to understand. I am also very familiar with the IELTS test, having successfully coached many students from around the world to reach their goal.

I still offer corrections and help with grammar and pronunciation, however I take note of improvements and positive points as well, so you can know what you are doing right! After two years of working in corporate communications, I decided to pursue my passion for education. I gained my teaching qualification in 2019 and moved to Fuzhou, China to teach English!
