Welcome to my page! My name is Damian and I am historian, writer, traveler and scientist (PhD). I also did a lot of research on so called “esoteric” methods of spiritual self-development, which enabled me to write several very interesting books about them.

Ich als Lehrkraft

I was born and grew up in the beautiful city of Saint Petersburg and therefore I speak the literary version of Russian – that is, exactly the same language that was spoken by such famous Russian writers as Pushkin, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. Currently I live in Kyiv (or Kiev, in standard English writing). I have profound knowledge of Russian and Ukrainian history and politics and would be glad to discuss them with you, in Russian and focusing on any historical period or any particular topic of specific interest to you. You need to be able to completely understand me speaking in the video. I think this is approximately a B2 level.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

My teaching style is such that we choose a topic of interest to you and discuss it in Russian, while I observe your speaking patterns and direct you towards better ways of expressing yourself when necessary. If you have pronunciation problems (phonetics), we will work on this separately. My important advantage in comparison with other teachers is that I understand English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, so if your native language is one of these and you do not know how to say something, you can say it in your native language and I will give you the Russian equivalent.
