As a person who's learned 3 foreign languages from a beginner to a proficient level, I'd like to say that it is an exciting adventure to new culture and world! That is because when you learn a new language, you don't only learn new grammar and words, you also learn new culture and way of thinking. There is a proverb in Turkish language: "You live a new life for every new language you speak. If you know only one language, you live only once".
I've been working as a teacher for almost 10 years and taught people from different places, culture and varying levels.

I teach 3 languages: Russian, Turkish, Turkmen.
I use an individual program for each student according to his/her goals and language level.
For very basic beginners, usually, I start with basics(Self introduction, numbers, day and dates, pronouns, verbs) and continue with main grammar(Tenses, cases and more subtleties of the language).
And for a conversational based lessons, we will use games, books, different subjects to talk along with cards.
