こんにちは！ Thank you so much for visiting my profile. : ) I’m Machiko, a qualified Japanese teacher with a master's degree in Translation Studies. For more than 10 years, I’ve been happily working in education and linguistic areas with people from nearly 50 countries all over the world. Language, culture, and intercultural communication are always subjects of my interests. I'm also interested in lots of things from news, books, arts, music, DIY, technology, food, cooking, ...and so on. Besides, I'm a BIG fan of travelling and absolutely love to visit extreme places. I'd definitely love to visit the places where you recommend someday!

I'm a qualified Japanese teacher completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language course, passing the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test, and earning a master's degree in Translation Studies. So far, I’ve been involved in several linguistic projects like translation, localisation and annotation for NLP. I specialise in the area of connotation, implication, and nuance of words and sentences. I’ve been teaching Japanese to learners of various levels, first languages, and professional backgrounds. It's given me the chance to meet amazing people from all around the world. I’ve also learnt a lot from them. I love it! : )

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

My teaching style is interactive, practical, and also respectful of multiple learning styles and cultures. To maximize the amount of time you are speaking in lessons, I apply the Communicative Approach to my teaching. Each lesson typically includes a grammar lesson, listening, and speaking practices. Through the lesson, new vocabularies, idioms, and expressions are also introduced. I generally use the Direct Method in Japanese in teaching unless more information in English is required. I am also available for making lesson plans that are specifically tailored to fit your study needs. Please feel free to contact me with any requests! : )
