I'm Jonatan, a Helsinki native born to a Finnish father and an English mother. I grew up learning both languages simultaneously at home, which resulted in native level proficiency in both. Fairly recently I moved to Vienna, Austria, where I am working on my German. In my youth I studied French for several years at school alongside a bit of elementary Swedish. I enjoy teaching in general whatever the subject may be. I find human interaction and meeting new faces from all around the globe interesting and fun!

I can confidently teach both Finnish and English. I speak standard British RP English as well as standard Finnish as you will hear in my video. Although I am not an officially certified language teacher I do have plenty of teaching experience in the field of music. I am willing to interact with people of all ages, levels, backgrounds and ambitions.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

My italki lessons will be centred around speaking and, more importantly, letting you speak as much as possible. I'm open to discuss all sorts of topics that interest you. We can also tackle grammatical principles and intricacies if you wish, but in this particular setting I believe you are best served with the general emphasis being on verbal dialogue, which will stimulate, improve and enhance your skills as well as strengthen your confidence in the language.
