Hello! My name is Maia. I was born in the USA, but I have been living in Uruguay for many years. Experiencing two different cultures with different languages has given me tools I am able to use today when giving lessons. I speak Spanish and English on a Native level, however, I also study French and Korean, but I am nowhere near fluent in these. As I am a language learner as well, I know the struggles of learning a language and the difficulties students may encounter, I will give you tips and strategies you can use to improve your English or Spanish in areas such as Speaking, Grammar, and Vocabulary.

I have been teaching English for 5 years, starting by tutoring my classmates and helping them pass their International Cambridge Exams. I recently acquired a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate, which gave me the tools and skills to help my students learn English in an efficient way. Even though I speak English fluently, I sat for three Cambridge exams, passing them all with A. Having first-hand experience on these exams has given me the abilities and skills necessary to help other people prepare themselves for them.

I offer three lesson types: * Conversation Practice In these lessons, we will discuss a specific topic of your choice to improve vocabulary in a specific area, or just do a free talk. I will correct every grammar and pronunciation mistake I notice in the chat and explain every grammar point or question you have. * Structured Learning Here, we will create a lesson plan according to your needs. We can have grammar-focused lessons, writing tasks, or interview simulations, this all depends on your needs and English goals. * Exam Preparation We will create a lesson plan that will help you prepare for a Cambridge English exam. Expect grammar, speaking, writing, and reading exercises.
