Ich als Lehrkraft
I've been teaching for more than 3 years now and believe that making my students feel comfortable, is one of my strengths. I like to make some random jokes in my classes to keep the topic interesting and really analyze how you, the student, can improve. I write down notes and am always well prepared so we can be as effective as possible.
I see myself as an all-round teacher, but my focus is usually on fluency, accuracy and speaking techniques (making you sound more natural). Of course I also try to help you to learn new vocabulary (words) and idioms and can help you with any other skill or topic. Just tell me what you want to improve and I'll help you! In general I try to ask you a lot of interesting questions, make it fun and play some small mini-games if possible.
You can choose for a communication class. In this class, we can simply talk or discuss a certain topic. I will write down notes and provide you with extra information about the topics we discuss.
We can also have a more controlled class. In which, focused on speaking, I usually follow these steps:
1. Vocabulary list. Go over: meaning, pronunciation and usage.
2. Controlled practice.
3. Grammar + speaking techniques

English teacherI worked at this language school as an English teacher, teaching children from 5 years old to adults. I’ve been teaching mostly communication classes, but also created and taught science and math classes. I’ve learned a lot during this period, such as: improving my class management skills, learning how to keep classes interesting, learning to interact with different kind of students, creating lesson plans, creating syllabuses for classes and helping with events.
2018 - 2018
Volunteering teacherI volunteered for this organization in one of their homestays in Ho Chi Minh City. Students ages varied between 16-30 years old and the (mostly conversational) classes took place in an informal environment.
2019 - 2020
Head English teacherI continued my teaching career at Hello English. This center taught me to be more professional and to become more all-round as a teacher. I gained experience in teaching big classes at a university, a high school and at the language center itself.
I also helped out by guiding TEFL students and giving speeches at junior high schools.
