Hello I’m Mayu. I was born and raised in Japan and now I live in Toronto Canada. I'm a community tutor also I'm a student on italki. I'm learning Spanish. My teacher is encourage me, helps me a lot and it is very fun studying with someone. Sometimes studying by myself is boring. I used to live in Australia and learned English for 1 year. I then came back to Japan and spoke only Japanese. Six months later my ability to speak English is all gone. Learning language is tough especially if you start learning when you are adult. Maintaining your language skill is not like riding a bike, you have to keep using and learning otherwise you just forget everything. Let’s achieve your goals together!!

I have been tutoring Japanese on italki about 2 year. All of my students have different reasons to learn Japanese also everyone has very high motivations. They put a lot of effort. It really inspires me and it's made me thinking more what I can help for them. Their motivations become my motivation. My experience is still growing in teaching to other people, but what I can offer is a friendly and caring friend to speak with.

We had a wonderful time conversing in everyday Japanese today. Mayu san is always willing to teach me at a level suitable for my understanding of Japanese, which is a great skill for a teacher. I enjoy my hour with Mayu san and couldn't ask for a better teacher. Thank you, Mayu san!
