Hi, ny name is Sandra and I am from Scotland, UK so I am a native ENGLISH speaker. I currently live in Turkey, I have been here for 4 years and I teach English at a private nursery. I have explored Europe and lots of areas in Turkey but there is so much still to see and I have a wish list to visit more coutries further afield. My main hobby is crafting, pebble art is my personal favourite but I also thoroughly enjoy reading, swimming and socialising. Living beside the sea lets me enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and I love spending time at the beaches in the area.

Ich als Lehrkraft

I studied Teaching English as a Foreign Language when I moved to Turkey and started teaching 3 years ago to 3 to 6 year olds at a private nursery. I also teach private lessons to more advanced students to improve their grammar and conversational skills but I have always enjoyed the beginners more and love watching a student gain satisfaction from learning a new language.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

I believe that using general words, phrases and things you see or use on a daily basis is a great way to start for eg, parts of the body, animals, actions etc. Depending on the level of each student then a lesson plan will be created to suit their needs and requirements. I will expect homework and practice sheets to be completed and feedback will be given at the end of each lesson. I will use flashcards, props, books, songs and activity sheets and most importantly I will try and make each class fun, enjoyable and a relaxed lesson. For the more advanced students then I will discuss hobbies and subjects that put them at ease to hold a conversation and advance as they progress.
