Über mich
italki-Lehrkraft seit 3. Jul 2017
I was born in Manchester, UK and lived there most of my life, until university, where I studied (BA) Acting at the University of Wales Trinity St David in Carmarthen, Wales. After this I toured around the UK for three years in various theatre tours before touring Italy. I then went on to sing in a hotel in Salou, Catalunya, before touring again around Europe and finally deciding to settle in Barcelona, where I have lived for the last two years. I had been teaching with Italki for around a year before embarking on a four month theatre tour around Spain, and I am now returning to teach once again.
Ich als Lehrkraft
I have recently completed a TEFL qualification.
I do not teach children under 12 online. It is not fair to the child.
I teach every year at summer camps and schools for foreign children, as well as occasionally taking one on one sessions in Barcelona.
Due to the fact I love studying languages myself, I feel I have the tools to understand how different people learn, and that learning anything should be based around finding it interesting, as, like everyone, I find unless I am engaged I quickly lose focus. It is for this reason that I welcome suggestions and requests from students in advance of each session to enable me to adapt every single class towards what that student wants.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I am very friendly, and outgoing, but I want you to speak as well, so I will ask lots of questions and try to keep it as relaxed as possible. I am genuinely fascinated by other cultures, so for me finding questions and talking about interests we both may have comes very easily to me, as well as having a laugh and not taking ourselves too seriously. I learn languages to meet new people, and I feel I bring this into my sessions as well!
