I'm Andrej. I live in Japan now, but I'm originally from the United States. I speak Japanese (B1/N3 level), and I also speak Spanish (B1 level) from when I lived in Barcelona for two years. I have a Master's Degree in Second Language Acquisition; I'm a language nerd. In my free time, I play board games (Catan, Codenames, etc.) and video games (Switch, Steam). I am big into Netflix series and Japanese anime. I've studied writing and literature in my university days, and I still write and read when I have time. And in the rest of my free time I'm studying Japanese kanji right now.

Ich als Lehrkraft

I am a patient listener who supports students with soft corrections, new expressions, and lots of practice. For beginners, the most important is to keep going. I will help you to say what you mean, for trips or just for chatting. For intermediate learners, we often have to find some places where we need to focus, and then continue to take risks and grow. I can help you find those blind spots and I will encourage you to become more natural and smooth when speaking or writing. For advanced learners, I will be pleased to acquaint you with higher vocabulary, colorful expressions, and phrasal verbs which are often the bane of learners' existences.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

I offer two lesson types: Free Talk and Test Preparation. Free Talk: we will improve your pronunciation and your natural English while discussing topics that interest you. I will make notes during our talk and I will show you how to improve what you are saying. Test Preparation: If you choose this lesson, please message me. Please tell me which test you are preparing for and what you would like to focus on. Most often, students want my help with the grammar sections and with speaking. I can explain grammar to you more clearly than any other teacher can. As for speaking, I will coach you to speak clearly, organize your thoughts, and support your opinions in a way that you will impress.
