¡Hola! I'm Jairo and I love travelling and discovering new cultures. In the last 10 years, I've moved quite a bit as I've lived in Spain, Poland, Scotland, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. I love talking about other cultures. I have a passion for the human mind and I find fascinating when I realise how our mother tongue shapes the way we think about things. I also love movies and it's my favourite way of learning languages. I am currently learning Swedish and though it's not my priority I have plenty of fun while studying it. I also speak Polish (that I really need to brush up, so if you are Polish please don't hesitate in asking me questions in polish during the lessons lol) and Englis

Ich als Lehrkraft

I discovered I wanted to be a full-time teacher when I moved to Poland and started to teach sporadically. After I came back to Spain I took a course on teaching skills and started to teach independently. And I loved it! The more I tough the more I liked it... and I still love it. I have helped many students over the last 6 years to be confident when speaking Spanish. My area of expertise is verbs and conjugations. So if you need help understanding the different kinds of past tenses to be sure I have plenty of resources to help you with that. I have helped many students to successfully use past tenses. When it comes to my personal qualities I would identify as very patient and supportive.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

I usually take a coaching approach. That means we will set goals and every week we will review what we've done so far and what we can do next. My students are the ones that choose the pace they want to learn, I only guide them through the whole journey. When it comes to materials we usually use real-life materials like youtube videos and also fun speaking activities to practise specific areas of the language. I do it in a way that my students are engaged while still learning the insights of the language. Be sure you will always have contact with real Spanish culture in our lessons. If you are an absolute beginner, I have designed a method in which you can start speaking from day one.

Jairo teaches my 13 years old son, they have 1-2-1 lessons. I really like his methods, he uses electronic book and other resources. He is helping me with keeping his engaged and motivated.
