Hi, I'm Olga. I live and work in St. Petersburg. I’m interested in art, architecture, films, and photography. My recent passion is Latin American dances. Apart from that I enjoy learning languages. I know how the learning process goes so I would like to help you with Russian. I like trying new methods and techniques in my studying and work. I find it very exciting and inspiring to realise that you can speak or understand a foreign language. Another source of inspiration is my students. Some of them are really unique people, so passionate and persistent in language learning! I love my job because thanks to it I have met a lot of wonderful people from all over the world.

Ich als Lehrkraft

I’m a native Russian speaker and qualified teacher with many years’ experience teaching Russian at the university, different language schools, and online. I can use formal and informal styles of teaching: improving your grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation for the test or doing some fun activities and talking about anything you’d like to. I mainly work with adults but I also have taught children through the games and entertaining activities. I have experience teaching Russian for specific professions such as medical workers, biologists, and marines. I prepare for the TORFL exams. I’m good at explaining things in simple terms and working at a pace that is comfortable for a student.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

My lessons are personalised and specially designed for each student, based on their Russian language level, goals and interests. During the first lesson I spend some time finding out about their language skills and needs and then make their individualised programme. I usually send the materials before the class. I generally start with a short warm-up activity and finish with a feedback to my students. I use different textbooks, Internet resources, and my own worksheets. I am flexible and can meet your needs and requirements. I look forward to meeting you!

The lesson was very pleasant! Olga was patient, took the time to listen to my needs and managed to adapt to them. As a linguist she is very knowledgeable about Russian. She also masters English very well.

Olga speaks very clearly, most teachers do but for some reason i feel that i understand her better. She's also quite good at explaining Russian words in Russian (not by translating). There was more spoken Russian than with my other lessons with other teachers. She seems very comfortable. I introduced myself and we finished our time and a bit of overtime by doing a few exercises on the dative aspect.
