I have been teaching on Italki for almost four years now. I can look back on teaching people from dozens of countries around the world. Young, old, children, teenagers, business people, students - people from all kinds of cultures and with unique expectations.
Additionally, I had been a student myself on Italki for about another two years before. I know how it feels like to attend your first lesson ever and what you need to have a fun, enjoyable and worthwhile lesson. Anyone is welcome and I would love to be your German teacher, too. In my classes we can talk about topics that are interesting and engaging. Any topic is fine and I will correct your mistakes, write them in the chat or on a Google Doc file, and expand your vocabulary. Don't worry about asking too many questions. I know how hard and frustrating learning a new language can be.
We can also talk about very specific things. You can tell me in advance which topic you want to talk about. Even job interviews! If you have any questions concerning grammar, please tell me before the lesson which grammar point you would like to study. I am very open to suggestions.

Wonderful first lesson. Marcus is an incredibly patient teacher, a very bright individual, and intuitive about your specific needs as a student. He was also non-judgmental about my mixed level in German and stepped in to help me whenever I needed help saying something. Very grateful to have found him!

My 1st lesson with Marcus was fun. We spoke entirely in German, using English only to clarify some words that I was unsure of. Marcus has a series of topics for conversation discussion stored on line — and this makes it easy to choose what to talk about. My primary need with German is practice with conversation — and my lesson with Marcus was perfect for this. I plan on working more with him in the future.
